Recorded presentation – 25% of final grade, due at 9am on the 13th (130B) or 16th (130C) of October
This assignment is an individual presentation on one topic of your choice from the following list:
· Television: discuss a TV show of your choice
• Fan culture: discuss a film of your choice
• Music: discuss an album of your choice
• Gameplay: discuss a video game of your choice
You will submit a two minute long presentation video (plus or minus 15 seconds), as well as a full written
transcript of your discussion during your presentation. Your presentation should reflect on the weekly topic you
have selected, and apply concepts from class and/or from the appropriate assigned reading to discuss a relevant
media text of your choice. Your discussion should focus on specific examples from that text (such as a single
episode of the TV series, or one or two scenes from the film, or a level from the video game, or a single song).
You should also discuss the audience or audiences of that text.
You should submit both your written component and your video file to the appropriate submission areas on
MyCC in the “Assignment 1 resources” section near the top of the page. You may submit your video in any
common file format (mp4, m4v, avi, mkv, mov). Please remember to export your file to a sharable format – DO
NOT SUBMIT THE IN-PROGRESS PROJECT FILE FROM YOUR EDITING SOFTWARE!
